On October 15, 2023, we held our first-ever Kaktus Flea Market and Open House, marking a day of community, sustainability, and fun.
Over 20 residents took the initiative to set up stands, showcasing a variety of items. IKEA generously supported with clothing racks which helped in displaying items. We also had a banner on Dybbølsbro to invite passersby, and set up a charity stand for Danmarks Naturfredningsforening
We opened the towers for a guided tour, giving visitors a chance to explore our living spaces.
In collaboration with IKEA, the first 30 customers were treated to gift cards for free hot dogs. Additionally, stand owners received an IKEA chocolate Christmas calendar.
The idea for this event came from Line, a neighbor who saw an opportunity to declutter, save, and promote second-hand shopping. Inspired by the local love for flea markets and the recent buzz from the new IKEA, Line, with support from Kaktus Life and other neighbors, brought this idea to life in just two weeks.
