An Engaging Evening of Mushroom Insights and Unique Cocktails
Our Kaktus Life community recently enjoyed a first event of "Science 'n Kaktails," where we combined the scientific intelligence with the creativity of cocktail-making. It was an evening dedicated to exploring the world of mushrooms, accompanied by some specially crafted mushroom-infused drinks. Huge thanks to the main event organizer Mark Randal, a towers resident, and also a professor at Københavns Universitet.
The event began with the first round of cocktails, setting a lively tone. We then transitioned to our guest speakers, starting with Ana Goidea a resident studying PhD at Lund University. Ana shared how mushrooms, particularly mycelium used in 3D printing, could be the future of sustainable building materials. It was a thought-provoking presentation that opened our eyes to the potential of fungi in architecture.
During a mid-event cocktail break, DJ Bruno provided the perfect backdrop with his music, enhancing the night's ambiance. Afterward, another resident David Reiner-Link. He thought us about the fascinating effects of psychedelic mushrooms and their potential benefits for mental health, offering insights into how these natural elements could be game-changers in treating mental health conditions.
The event was intentionally kept intimate, with only around 40 attendees, ensuring a cozy and engaging atmosphere for everyone.
"Science 'n Kaktails" turned out to be more than just an educational event - it was a delightful social gathering. Co-living here at Kaktus Towers means we get to experience these cool social gatherings. Cheers to many more events where we can share knowledge, laughter, and great drinks in a friendly atmosphere!
